Hi Anthony, this is a really well-written rubric. This rubric definitely sets the standards of what is expected from the students. Each of the standard columns clearly shows differences of the expectation, and there is a gradual expectation of achievement from 'below standard' all the way to 'exceeds standard'. So it would seem when marking students work, this rubric will help educators make consistent and comparable judgements. I do have a question regarding the marks, are those numbers 1 - 4 the scores, meaning the high score being 4? Other than that, this is amazing, Anthony!

Hi Anthony,

I think this is a great rubric. I particularly like the presentation strategies section where you have included eye contact and volume of the speaker and how this goes up in marks. My only feedback would be that the rubric goes up to 4, giving it no distinct middle mark. Is this because the assessment is worth 40%, as to why you have only made it out of 4?

A very clear rubric with distinct progressions. I like that you give this to students before the task to give them an idea of what is expected of them.

Rubrics are such a great way to assess student's performance. It is also an effective way to clearly indicate the standards and expectations that you have set out for the students. Though, the rubric is already written in a lot of detail - I wonder if you will also be giving more personalised/ individualised feedback to the student on their assessment or verbally as well?
