The Classroom

A safe learning environment is made up of several factors, such as peer relationships and age-appropriate equipment. It is my duty as the teacher to create such an environment and ensure the classroom is a place of warmth where friendships can grow, trust can be established and vulnerability with ideas and creativity can flourish. Students should feel comfortable in the classroom and know that I, the teacher, am always approachable and available for their academic and emotional needs. The students' well-being is of utmost importance.

A part of ascertaining this safe learning environment is ensuring that I have undergone all required screening clearances that are necessary to teach in an Australian classroom. This includes a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and a Working With Children Check as required by the Western Australian government. This documentation can be viewed on the right.
