Philosophy

In my classroom, I endeavour to create an environment whereby all students are made to feel safe, supported, and valued. My goal as a teacher is to enable children to develop the necessary skills and mindsets to become active learners and valuable, contributing members of society. I want my students to be prepared for future challenges such as communicating, finding employment, and understanding the increasingly diverse world around them.

My beliefs about teaching and learning are that the value of education extends far beyond the intended curriculum. Whilst key areas like literacy and numeracy are essential in supporting the development of communication, logical thinking, and reasoning skills, I trust that the unintended curriculum that I present to my students, such as ethical and sociocultural values, will play a vital role in preparing them for their lives outside of the classroom.
