Artefact Information
During my third placement I used this Scootle resource to help consolidate students' knowledge about fractions. I had explicitly taught them different techniques relating to fractions of a whole and then introduced this game to consolidate their knowledge.
I brought up the link on the interactive whiteboard and after demonstrating and eliciting how to play, students came up and attempted the questions. I encouraged the rest of the class to help students who were not sure of their answers. It was very engaging for the students and student-centred. It allowed me to observe which students were more confident in choosing the more difficult options and those who required peer support. In my reflection, I wrote that we could have spent more time playing the game. I used it as a lead-in but could have revisited it later on.
Unfortunately I can not locate a copy of the lesson plan for this lesson. In future I hope to have some more concrete evidence to place here.
