Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers in identifying professional learning needs.

This page provides evidence for meeting Standard 6 (specifically sub-standard 6.1) at a graduate level. 

My initial experience for professional placement offered me multiple opportunities to speak with people at different levels and roles within the school. I took every opportunity to question teachers on their pedagogy, ideas, observations, and strategies. These were beneficial in identifying where the larger deficits were in my knowledge on the professional and how a growing familiarity with the Australian Professional Standards will build and shape me as a teacher.

I am thankful to my mentor teachers for enabling me to have these discussions and for their time, patience, and generosity in guiding me toward answers and resources on my teaching journey.
