The assignment brief called for a demonstrated understanding of the educational needs of and supports required for, students with diverse abilities. This section of the assignment was concerned with the strengths and weaknesses of diagnosis and labelling.

This excerpt from the assignment details my understanding of the importance of properly diagnosing students with additional needs. This excerpt gives a brief example of how understanding a student's characteristics aids teachers in properly addressing learning needs and affect learning and development. The assignment received a Distinction grade and the instructors enthusiastic feedback ratified that I had a good grasp on the subject.
