Rationale: MTS503 Assessment 1 Extract
Assessment 1 for the Managing the Learning Environment unit was a case study. This excerpt from that work encourages teachers to find empathetic approaches to their students and to allow students to feel they have the freedom to learn their way. The assessment submission received a distinction.
This explanation and the empowerment of students to decide is in line with Humanism pedagogy. This pedagogy is the one I feel most aligns with my teaching identity and belief that teachers are there for the students above all else. It stands to reason that fostering a supportive environment is conducive to supporting student participation.
