Description
Use curriculum, assessment and reporting knowledge to design learning sequences and lesson plans.
This page provides evidence for meeting Standard 2 (specifically sub-standard 2.3) at a graduate level.
Rationale: Lesson Plan and Supervisor Feedback
This was a lesson I taught on Professional Experience three that featured a visit and observation by my supervisor. The lesson followed on from the students' previous presentations on leadership and would bridge into their next work, a creative response to 'The Hunger Games'.
The assessment for the success of this lesson was formative and took the shape of students' participation and verbal responses and the task where students tallied up points based on the use of senses, similes, metaphors, and personification in their writing.
This form of immediate feedback and assessment worked well in determining the students understanding of the themes, ideas, and elements of their writing in preparation for their next lesson.
In their comment, my supervisor notes on the structure and links to the next lesson. These explicitly address the descriptor of this AITSL standard.
