Professional Learning Communities
In my current position as an SSO, I am part of a student support services PLC, and also participate in training and development days for our regional Partnership PLCs. This gives me the opportunity to network with other SSOs and educators, share ideas and resources, and discuss learning programs and outcomes which are used at different sites. I am able to use the opportunity to share my own learning programs and receive feedback about their effectiveness and areas for improvement. Moving into a teaching role, I will continue to seek opportunities for collegial networking and feedback to improve my teaching practices and learning outcomes.

Professional Development
In my current role as an SSO, I recognise the importance of developing further understanding of the cognitive, social and emotional needs of individual students to identify strategies that will assist them with positive learning outcomes. Attending professional development which is relevant to students assists in recognising and accomodating their needs in the learning environment.
