Reflection

The artefacts attached demonstrate my understanding of the role of external professionals and community representatives in broadening teachers' professional knowledge as it displays my 'growth mindset' as I continually look for ways to improve teaching practice from other more experienced teachers, not limited to those engaged with during professional experience placements. I have also joined two Facebook groups for PDHPE teachers with Australia. These online groups are a place to network; share ideas, resources, strategies and experiences that may ultimately help in the delivery of high quality teaching in PDHPE across the nation. This was particularly advantageous during the 2020 and 2021 lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic within NSW where schools were obliged to deliver teaching through online learning models. These groups allowed PDHPE teachers across the state and nation to share how they were adjusting their teaching despite the disruptions.

Furthermore, a screenshot of an online learning platform (Edrolo) has also been included. This platform is a subscription-based resource that allows students to access review videos, quizzes and tests to compliment teacher instruction within school lessons. Lastly, a screenshot of my mentor teacher on AITSL Standard 7 has been included which highlights my ability to consult and utilise external professionals to assist in continual professional development.
