Plan for Reflecting on and Documenting Evidence against the Graduate Teacher Standards

Reflecting

I plan to ongoingly engage in high-quality reflection on my pre-service teaching, professional and personal growth, over the journey of my Master of Teaching (Secondary) course. These reflections will be recorded on a weekly basis, in a teaching journal and formal reflective annotations that will accompany each artefact in my Digital Professional Portfolio. My reflections on my pre-service teaching, professional and personal growth, will be benchmarked against the Australian Graduate Teacher Standards, to clearly demonstrate that I have attained the level of an effective Graduate teacher who possesses the following vital reflective qualities, abilities and skills: a highly professional, critical teaching mindset; the ability to deliberate and deeply reflect on the intricacies of the teaching and learning process; and proficiently utilise reflective knowledge and understanding of my teaching practice which will enhance my students’ learning and support their well-being.

Documenting

My Digital Professional Portfolio will assist me with clearly documenting authentic teaching and learning artefacts—that I have collected during my time as a pre-service teacher—against the Australian Graduate Teacher Standards, to demonstrate my teaching readiness. Over the course of my pre-service teaching, I will collect a diverse array of teaching and learning artefacts including:

Assignments from differing course units
Unit and lesson plans
Mentor teachers’ evaluations
Classroom Observation videos of my pre-service teaching practice
Students' classwork and assessments
