Critical Reflection

My digital professional portfolio is an evolving platform that demonstrates my ability to meet the AITSL Graduate Teacher Standards. As I progress through my degree and complete professional experiences, this university degree and professional development courses I will have the opportunity to build upon my evidence and further support my ability to meet the AITSL Standards.

Upon reflection, of my digital professional portfolio as it stands today, it is evident that further evidence will be required for all standards to demonstrate my progression towards meeting these. I plan to use a variety of evidential pieces such as; mentor feedback and comments, professional development course certificates, university assessments, lesson plans, collected classroom resources and notes and other artefacts that strongly support the AITSL Standards.

Currently, Standard 1 has no supporting evidence against sub-strand 1.6. I endeavour to pursue opportunities to develop my knowledge and understanding of strategies to support the full participation of students with disabilities (AITSL, 2018, p. 11). For example, the teaching strategies to support students with disabilities and difficulties workshop offered by Monash University (Monash University, 2019) would be an excellent workshop to attend. This workshop would provide supporting evidence to show my progression towards meeting AITSL Standards 1.5, 1.6 and 4.1 (Monash University, 2019, para. 3).

Standard 2 has evidence against all sub-strands, however, it is evident that further supporting documentation should be provided to create stronger connections to Standard 2. Engaging in opportunities such as; NAIDOC and reconciliation week provide an opportunity to gain supporting evidence to show my progression towards meeting AITSL Standard 2 and more specifically sub-strand 2.4.

Standard 3 and 4 have limited evidence provided against them and require further supporting documents to assist with meeting the requirements of sub-strands not yet achieved. I believe, I currently have evidence to support other sub-strands and I endeavour to implement these artefacts as I continue to develop my digital professional portfolio.

In conclusion, my digital professional portfolio is an evolving platform that will continue to develop and provide evidence to support my ability to meet the AITSL Graduate Teacher Standards.
